Support CIC Manager Regulation

I absolutely support continued regulation of CIC Managers.

As a PCAM, I am appalled at some of the actions I see in the industry.  Associations rely on their managers for facility management, long term planning, and financial oversight.  Managers must maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.

I think the State has room for improvement when it comes to enforcing the current regulations.  From my experience, reporting unlicensed managers and/or firms has been an extremely frustrating experience.  It seems all one needs to do is to practice HOA/POA management UNLICENSED and when reported, simply file an application claiming "experience".  It's absurd to me.  Some of these so called managers have no idea or simply decide to ignore the state laws regarding:  disclosure packages, meeting notices, insurance requirements, etc.  Why?  Because they were never properly trained under a supervisory employee and were given a license after doing it wrong for 3 years and quickly taking the CAI M-100.

So, yes.  CIC managers need to be licensed and regulated the same as other real estate professionals:  salespersons, brokers, and appraisers.  I would hope the recent embezzlement allegations in this area are proof enough.  How about we don't give felons a license?
