I fully support making masks a requirement in Virginia workplaces

More and more studies and experts agree that wearing face coverings is a simple and highly effective public health step that can significantly reduce the spread of COVID-19. Clearly, widespread implementation of face masks is also a low-cost method of protecting public health in the face of a virus that can spread before those infected display any symptoms. Uniform adherence to face-covering guidance will help Virginians to feel confident that their health is protected at work and when visiting places of business that are open to the public (such as grocery stores, offices, and retail stores), and will therefore benefit our economy while safeguarding our health. Giving oversight "teeth" to the Governor's guidance will benefit Virginians' health, reduce the burden on our healthcare system, and support the safe and confident re-opening of our economy.
