Safety requirements

I’m astounded at the amount of people here, ignoring the scientific facts about wearing masks and the transmission of covid. The science has shown how much it decreases the transmission rates. Does it stop it completely, no, but it overwhelmingly reduces it. If we don’t want to overwhelm our health care system and workers again, masks should continue to be mandatory. States that have opened back up without this requirement are now showing surges higher than were initially found in March & April.
Masks should also be mandatory for students returning to school. In many countries and even states that have reopened, they are showing surges in cases for younger people. Kids are not immune to this disease, their symptoms are just less than an adult usually. Who is teaching these students though- adults who can thereby acquire this disease from students not wearing masks.  Teachers are never 6 ft away from students so transmission will occur. If you care about teachers, the way everyone seemed to be supporting what they did back when schools closed in March, then you should care about keeping them safe now by having everyone wear a mask that would come into contact with them.
