As a parent and licensed RN, I reject the constant fearmongering regarding the novel COVID. While caution was justified in the early days of the virus becoming widespread, the “flatten the curve” concept worked and our hospitals have never been overwhelmed. There is very little actual scientific justification for requiring masks for healthy people in public - certainly not enough justification to continue the dystopian practice of face-covering and constant obsession that we and our children have been subjected to for months. I realize that the plans have already been decided upon, and public commentary will likely be disregarded because our representatives no longer actually represent their constituents, but let my urgent request for Virginia to be on the right side of history during this time stand.
