While this infection is a contagious disease the enforcing of masks for 6 months is simply ridiculous. What does matter is we educate people to protect themselves if they are at high risk. We need to encourage people when necessary to social distance. Wearing a mask for this disease that 35% of the people who have it are asymptomatic. Wearing a mask for a disease that has had less than 800 people die who don’t live in an extended care facility, in a state of 8.5 million people is “overkill”. The overall effect on healthy peoples life and business will be disastrous. Watching people wearing masks as they run, or bicycle ride, or are sitting in a park or an open space is arguably worse. Not even arguably, it is worse than having the benefits of the open air. Please stop supporting this over reaction that is way more devastating.
