Science does not support masks for healthy people.

I've read all the studies I can find on masks and there is no evidence that a piece of fabric can stop a virus.  Wearing a mask is symbolism at it's finest.  It's simply to make people "feel" safe.  Healthy people should never wear masks was the universal expert view, until a few weeks ago.  What changed?
In restaurants, servers remove masks every time they go in the back - do they wash their hands each time they touch their mask?  I'd rather them simply not touch their face at all rather than constantly be adjusting and moving a mask!
Many people like me have a very difficult time breathing in masks.  And it's very difficult to communicate when you can't see someone's mouth or expressions.  There is a health and quality of life component for healthy people.   I will enter physical stores and restaurants as little as possible while masks are required, as do many, which is hurting the sales of brick and mortar stores.
And what about crime? And the laws that prevent concealing your identity?
There is simply more down sides to mask wearing for healthy people and little to no upside.
