Folks, consider something with me for a minute. Recent studies have shown that many, many people are carrying and spreading the COVID-19 virus with no symptoms. (Google it) Without wearing a mask, it is much more likely that those individuals will go on to unknowingly infect hundreds of others via respiratory droplets that are expelled through normal coughing and sneezing. While a cloth mask does not filter virus out of the air, it does absolutely help to prevent the virus from becoming aerosolized by an infected person. The moral of the story is this: The mask isn’t worn to protect YOU, it’s worn to protect everybody else FROM YOU. And if everyone doesn’t comply, it doesn’t work. Those who are complaining about breathability- Use the thin surgical kind. They work just as well to keep coughs and sneezes from being aerosolized and are very easy to breathe through. There’s absolutely no reason that the vast majority of the population shouldn’t be able and willing to do this for the good of the whole. And if you can’t, stay out of the public or request an ADA accommodation from your workplace. (By the way, Anthony Fauci agrees with this and has changed his public statements on it – you can Google that, too.)
