The field of dentistry and its associated specialties take infection control and the safety of our patients and staff very seriously. The ADA as well as AAOMS have issued recommendations on safe practices for the field of dentistry in this time of COVID-19 pandemic. Adding additional red tape and regulations to our existing policies would only serve to complicate the situation. In addition, dentists are being limited in the amount and type of PPE that we can access through vendors and the state. I am asking you to consider an exemption for the dentists of Virginia as it relates to the VDLI-Emergency Temporary Standards and Emergency Regulations.
