Abortion center regulations are essential for the health and safety of Virginia women and must be maintained and enforced, not weakened. Repeatedly, independent inspectors of abortion centers have found serious deficiencies, even during announced inspections. Abortion centers are not able to self-regulate. Would the Commonwealth allow hospitals to self-regulate? Since abortion falls under the umbrella of healthcare, it makes sense that abortion centers must adhere to the regulatory standards set for other healthcare facilities. Virginia women deserve nothing less.
