As a physician in Virginia, I was educated to use evidence based medicine. There is no medical evidence that these unnecessary regulations on abortion clinics are helping patients, and there is evidence to show it is preventing patients from being able to obtain care. If the politicians who have put these "healthcare" regulations in place were concerned about the health of patients, there would be the same regulations over similar procedures that are not abortion clinics. There are no similar regulations over dermatology or plastic surgery or colonoscopy clinics. I ask the Board of Health to follow the evidence and rescind these unnecessary regulations.
