Abortion center regulations are essential for the health and safety of Virginia women and must be maintained and enforced, not weakened. In fact, one the main arguments for legalizing abortion was to ensure that women received safe and competent treatment when they murdered their babies. The abortion industry has fought regulation for years, yet repeatedly independent inspectors find serious deficiencies, even during announced inspections. Abortion centers are not able to self-regulate. Furthermore, since abortion operates under the guise of healthcare, abortion centers must adhere to the regulatory standards of other healthcare facilities. If we must continue sacrificing the unborn to the god of self, at least one of the parties should be protected.  Simply, Virginia women deserve nothing less.
