Conversion therapy is a human rights abuse. It goes against the inherent, innate right of an individual to live their life in a way that fulfills their inherent personhood. Sexuality is a deeply personal and inborn facet of human experience, and this therapy has been proven not only not to work, but to cause lifelong, permanent psychological and emotional trauma. Individual human rights must be respected and safe-guarded, particulalry for children.
