Geology

18VAC 160-20-96 B.1 b

Geology should be added as a relevant degree.  Most geology programs today and definitely in the state of Virginia realize Soils and soil properties are where the majority of there majors will be working in the field.  Therefore, several soils classes and engineering soils classes are offered at many universities.  The evaluation of soils is geology and directly related.  Soils are weathered rock, either in place or transported, the knowledge one gets from a geology degree is immeasureable in this field and should be included as such within the regulations.

Geology may not be relevant to Waterworks or Wastewaterworks operators, but it is definitely relevant to the Onsite Sewage Disposal Program.
