Virginias women deserve ready access to quality reproductive health care, throughout the Commonwealth. Requiring clinics to comply with additional onerous regulations does not ensure better healthcare for women. It is a thinly veiled attempt to restrict access to these vital healthcare services.
As a professional nurse, I have seen first hand the consequences of restricting access to contraception , infectious disease treatment/prevention and abortion. Lives are ruined and even lost when women cannot control their own reproductive health. The state and federal governments have no proper place in the private decisions made between a patient and their physician on matters of reproductive health.
I’m strongly opposed to ANY government actions or Board of Health regulations that would restrict access to contraceptives, to STD treatment or to abortion.
