The Board of Health must listen to medical professionals and legal experts in voting to protect providers of reproductive care services from medically unnecessary and unconstitutional regulation. All public health decisions should be based on evidence and research, not ideology. There is no scientific or medical reason to treat all reproductive care facilities as hospitals, and regulating them as surgical facilties does not make patients safer. Such baseless regulation only limits access to necessary care.
