Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code Re-write

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the updates to the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code.  I would like to add my name to support the previous comments made by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association and others in the interest of preserving fire safety and prevention throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  While there was a review process for the re-write and edits to the existing code, the process has been flawed since the inception.  The process has been rushed without sufficient time, considering the massive number of changes being proposed and there has not been sufficent time to analyze the potential impacts such eliminations and changes.  There has been little consensus on many of the changes and additional time should be allowed before such significant changes are made.
