hesthersincerely,
The education requirement for dry needling are sorely lacking. Acupuncturist spend 3 years in a supervised clinic learning many skills in just the ability to needle. It doesn't matter what you call the technique, it's the same skill. Sending Pt's out to needle patients after a weekend is not in the best safety of the public. If PT really want to make needling part of their profession. They should add it to their formal schooling as a specialty. Their is a lot to understand and know. Acupuncturist have to take a written and practical blood born pathogen/needle technique exams. That should also be a minimum to practice. Why would one needling profession have so many safety requirements and the PTs have basically none? It is a matter of public safety.
Sincerely,
