I have arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis in my hip. As a result, my body had began to adapt to the pain and over work other muscles instead of the ones in my hip. I had a constant limp and the muscles in my right leg felt like concrete. When I came to this PT facility they tried every excercise and stretch and nothing was working. We then tried dry needling which worked instantly. Ive noticed that people have been commenting on the lack of qualifications to do this however when I was at this specific facility only one man was certified to perform this remedy. My instructors told me this to explain why they could not do it themselves. The purpose of dry needling is to induce a cramp in the specific muscle that is constantly tense in order to force it to relax. It sounded crazy to me until it was performed on me and, as I stated earlier, it worked instantly and helped me gain range of motion as well as stop my limp.
