As a Virginia State resident for over 25 years, and a public safety employee of the District of Columbia, I have taken notice of the upswing in assaults and other person-on-person type crimes that are seeming to become more and more prevalent in the recent years. I am in support of the right to keep and bear arms in general - being outdoors doesn't deter crime from occurring - why should it deter law abiding and responsible firearms owners from enjoying the great outdoors, whether it's on a national, state, or local level?
