Physical Therapists are trained and educated in muscular, skeletal, and neurological systems and the modalities used to address these systems. These modalities include dry needling. Our knowledge of the anatomy and the systems of the body allow us to perform trigger point dry needling effectively and safely.
Through gaining a DPT, physical therapists gain the majority of the knowledge needed to complete dry needling safely and the continuing education that is required to practice the modality bridges the gap between the knowledge gained in school and the knowledge needed to earn the certification.
