I support the right for citizens to lawfully carry handguns on State Forests.
This seems to most ordinary citizens a no-brainer. I highlight a few points:
1. The constitution.
2. Law enforcement is not the same as personal protection
3. Due to the ratio of law enforcement personnel to citizens (in the park, or otherwise), it is unreasonable to expect that an officer will be present at a time of need (though, thank God when they are).
4. Those intent on doing ill plan to do so on the unprotected, unsupervised, and where they can be reasonbaly certain that there is nothing to limit their intentions. Thus it is primarily an individual's responsibilty to protect themselves and be safe.
Though there are many, many others, I will let this suffice as to articulate my support!
