Dear Board of Health Members,
We are deeply opposed to changing the current law to relax the regulations on abortion clinics in Virginia. While we respect all life from the moment of conception, we also are concerned with the safety of the mothers. Since these clinics will no longer be held to hospital grade medical standards, it creates potential health dangers to women seeking abortions at these clinics. It stands to reason that the lowering of madates will result in lower quality of care, and as such, could lead to infection, injury, and even death. The cost savings to the clinics, from not having to comform to previous high quality standards, may produce in an increase in the number of clinics, all operating at this more dangerous level. We implore you not to change the regulations for the safety of all involved.
Sincerely,
Tim and Susan Tully
