It is imperative that the safety standards for abortion centers are maintained AND strengthened. The seemingly indifferent attitude toward health and safety violations in this area reveal a lack of concern for the safety of women seeking abortions. The Board of Health has the responsibility to ensure that the facilities these women enter meet the standards already in place; not to lessen the standards to meet the state of the facilities.
