I give verbal or written consent whenever I bring one of my dogs to an animal clinic/hospital, and I trust that employees are compent for the work that's done, be they doctors, vet techs, students, or other staff. I'm opposed to the Henkle Petition, redefining the levels of supervision and requiring written consent from an owner before a vet/vet-tech student performs any procedure on an animal. It seems unnecessary, burdensome, costly, and detrimental to students.
