This letter is to strongly urge members of the State Board of Elections to retain the current version of photo ID regulaions and honor the intention of the law which is to personaly identify those voting in person. Whether or not the iD is current is irrelevant. I usually do not destroy expired licenses and find that the photos can easily match current ones. Anything that causes more delays at the polling pleaces is an impediment to smooth elections and scrutinizing expiration dates will add to confusion and seems unnecessary and especially burdensom to those who have given up their driver's licenses.
Please let's use some common sense here.
