As a Dental Hygienist for over 30 years, I cringe to think of anyone less trained and educated than a registered hygienist scaling a patient's teeth. We must remember that our main focus as health professionals is the patient's safety and oral health. I am opposed to any measures to allow scaling by a dental assistant or a DA ll!!
