Board of Health,
I believe that weakening the health and safety regulations for abortion clinics passed by the General Assembly would be a mistake. There is no justification for performing such procedures in facilities that dont meet the standards of other medical facilities in Virginia. We need to prevent the continuation of the widespread health and safety violations that occurred before the regulations were put into place. Furthermore, the Commissioner should not be able to reverse the decision of the people of the Commonwealth who acted through their elected representatives in the General Assembly. Such action by unaccountable, unelected officials compromises our dedication to democracy and the sovereignty of the people. Stephen Strosnider
