Only current identification should be acceptable

Assuming there is only one current, valid government-issued id of any particular type issued to an individual (most people do not get copies of drivers licenses unless needed), that should be the only ID acceptable to avoid  a proliferation of ID cards and the potential for voter fraud. I keep all my old drivers licenses and, as I age, I look more and more like another person. If I give an expired drivers license to someone who looks like I did when the old photo was taken, and he loses it, no big deal. I still have my current, valid (and valuable) drivers license. I think we should do what Afganistan does and dye people's fingers deep blue to indicate they have voted. this will avoid people voting twice. Voter fraud is a problem in this country and should be prosecuted as a felony with a mandatory prison sentence unless we want to become some second-rate third-world banana republic as some seem to want us to become. When that happens, we won't be able to police the world, doctor the world, educate the world or provide relief to the world from famine, pestilence and poverty. We will be right there with them.
