Voter ID cards and expiration dates

If any forms of photo I.D. cards that contain no expiration date are valid proof of identification for voting, then the expiration date contained on some other forms of photo I.D. cards should not invalidate them as proof of identification.  This is common sense.  To accept an I.D. that has no expiration (essentially valid forever), but to reject an equally legitimate form of I.D. that has an arbitrary expiration date, manifests a mind-boggling amount of hypocrisy.
