I am a brand new election official volunteer. I'm also a very senior citizen. I've read many of the comments provided and there seems to be a general agreement that the expiration date requirement is not necessary. I believe that identification is key providing that a reasonable voter photo and proof of residence is provided. I'll wait to see what transpires at our upcoming training.
