What is the purpose of the Voter ID law? I believe the purpose is to reduce to occurrance of voter fraud. By requiring a current valid form of identification reduces the likelihood of allowing an individual to have multiple residences in multiple states. A recent review showed over 40,000 registered Virginia voters who are registered in other states also. The expieration date will help to remove that overlap.
