Do Not Pass

I feel that this amendment is excessive. For one, "controversial material" is way too vague. Most materials can be considered offensive by someone. It is impossible to highlight all "possibly controversial material" in a syllabus. Second, this is sheltering children too much. As an adult, someone cannot just skip life because there is too much "sensitive" and "offensive" material everywhere. A child is more prepared to face the real world if they are exposed to it in school. They will know how to handle it maturely, rather than trying to hide from it. Also, how does the school handle a child with an overprotective parent who is embarrassed by it? Does the school give the student a detention for not showing the syllabus to the parent? This all must be thought about before anything like this amendment is passed.
