Support parental notification

As a parent I will appreciate notification when sexually explicit material is going to be assigned.  I realize some teachers may not appreciate having to communicate with parents, but the burden is very low - send us an email, or note home explaining what you will be assigning.  This could be done at the begining of the year.  The amendment dosen't stop teachers from assign the work, it just asks that the parents are notified first.  I would think a law like this should be easily accepted by everyone.  Unfortunately some local school districts are very unwilling to support straight forward requests like this, hence the need for state regulation.

Thank you for considering this.
