The amendment sets a dangerous precedence that erodes trust in our teachers. This is would deter potential educators entering the field. Forcing teachers to provide an explanation or rationale for every text due to potential sensitivity waters down what could be thought-provoking, lively analysis and class room discussion. As a result, instead of creating discerning, critical thinkers in our students, we would, with this amendment, be creating students who don't investigate, analyze, endorse, or criticize what they read.
