I'm the parent of a 13-year-old with a rare genetic disorder who receives consumer-directed personal care through the CCC+ Waiver in Northern Virginia.
In August 2026, our authorization changed hands between our Services Facilitator, our MCO, and PPL, and the new authorization was never activated in PPL. For about a week there was no active authorization and our attendants could not be paid, until a new one was submitted and backdated. Nothing about my daughter's eligibility changed. It was a data entry error during a handoff, and the broken authorization could not be fixed, only resubmitted.
The transition plan ends every Services Facilitator authorization and creates a new one through the support broker. That is the same handoff that failed for us. I ask DMAS to:
Thank you.
