Cognitive vs. Physical Needs

Concern:

Cognitive vs. Physical Needs: Individuals with IDD may be physically capable of tasks like walking or eating, but they require continuous prompting, supervision, behavior management, and safety monitoring to live independently.

Recommended Solution:

1 Recognize cognitive and behavioral limits independently of physical dependency.

2 Account for supervision, cueing, and prompting needs.
