Allowing individuals to use their waiver-funded services at Vanguard Landing would  increase access to a community where possibilities are recognized.

For our son, the opportunities and experiences which are possible for his siblings are available (and happening) at VGL.  Upon first entering his cottage, he was proud to announce this is where he can cook, put his foods in his refrigerator, be here with friends, play games.  There is confidence and ownership when he steps into his bedroom knowing this is a place he can call his own.  Community involvement is integral and happening for our son which includes sporting / recreational activities, enjoying enriching activities such as museums, theatre, festivals, spiritual growth and fulfillment through attending church with family, seeking out opportunities for volunteering, family time.  

If one has not had the opportunity to visit Vanguard Landing then doing so would be a chance to glimpse what is possible.
