No assistant scaling!! This is malpractice, dental hygienist go to school for years to learn proper techniques for scaling, no one should be using a scaler in the mouth without proper training and license to do so. Allowing this will allow for patients to not receive the quality of care that they should be receiving. This is like saying a CNA can do the job of a RN, they are not the same and a CNA should not be doing something only a Registered Nurse can do. This will add to dental burnout, as assistants are already overworked, and more hygienist leaving the field due to feeling under valued.
