This petition represents a waste of time and monetary resources. 

Radon Testing & Mitigation service providers are already regulated and required under Virginia law to maintain active certification with the NRSB or NRPP in the Commonwealth of Virginia when providing fee based radon testing and mitigation services. In attending the June 16th, 2026 Town Hall meeting, is was apparent the good natured petitioners seeking to require state licensing of radon professionals were doing so as a means to provide an enforcement vehicle against non-certified or unqualified radon professionals that simply does not exist. The reality is, neither BPOR nor DPOR seem to possess any authority to penalize or sanction any individuals or corporate entities who choose to operate without required licensing or certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia, period.
