I urge the VMRC to reject this petition. This is the 3rd petition brought before the VMRC in the past two years. The previous two were rejected due to their clear intent to harm a historic industry that has been operating for 148 years. I encourage the Commissioners to continue to approach this issue with sound judgement. This fishery is already heavily regulated and responsibly managed, and the multigenerational workforce it employs should not be forced to repeatedly defend their livelihoods against unfounded claims.
