People try to blame menhaden fishing for the problems with striped bass but the science says otherwise.  Striped bass are OVERFISHED, primarily due to the discord mortality from recreational fishing.  Read the ASMFC Striped Bass Stock Assessment.  And striped bass health surveys in the Chesapeake Bay which have been done by VMRC for over 30 years, as well as by PRFC in Potomac River show that EVERY YEAR of the survey striped bass have be healthy and well fed.  People should stop trying to blame menhaden fishing for this issue.
