I do not believe it is safe for Family Day Home or any other facility to purchase and use Epi-Pens that a doctor has not prescribed for a specific child. I am surprised that we are not allowed to give even Tylenol or any other OTC without parents' consent or any prescribed medicine without a doctor's note, so how come I can administer EpiPen to any child without a doctor's note or consent form? And how do I decide whether any allergic reaction needs allergy medication or an EpiPen to treat? I am not a nurse or a Doctor. Also, who will cover the cost? Therefore, I don't think Family Day Homes should be required to Stock EpiPen. I strongly disagree. Please do not discourage providers from working in this field. There are already so many challenges to sustain our businesses.
