The emphasis on girls and women's sports to socialize girls in teamwork and as an aid to health took off in the 1970's. It has greatly enhanced the learning experience for many girls. The recent ideological oddness of having men injected into these milieus has upended those benefits for many people. The spectacle of a man who wants to play at being a women and have others acknowledge him as a woman degrades the sports experience not only for the women unfairly faced with the spectacle but also for the fans and supporters of the teams. There is no legal impediment to this rule and the vast majority of Virginians, unindoctrinated by whatever academic weirdness impelled this nonsense, should be heeded and men kept out of women's sports.
