I strongly oppose this change with no exception. The danger present in our community for women does not stem from the general acceptance and inclusion of trans women in our lives. If our rights are to continue to be respected we must ALL strongly oppose this petition.
If we wish to continue to have privacy in regards to our health decisions, we must oppose this petition.
If we wish to be allowed to make decisions about how we dress and groom ourselves we must oppose this petition.
If we wish to have a right to use public facilities how is most comfortable for us without fear of being forced to disclose sensitive details about not only the bodies of ourselves, but youths, we must strongly oppose this petition.
There is no basis to the idea that trans women are a threat to non trans women. The continuing trend of policing women's bodies and lives, whether trans or not, cannot be permitted to continue. We must not allow for this petition to go through on the basis of fear mongering and lies spread by those who would rather we live with hatred than truth. If we truly want to improve the lives and safety of those who this bill is claiming to, we should instead begin with using this time to address the larger issues that affect vulnerable peoples such as poverty and domestic violence instead of attacking a minority group that is more often the victim of violence than the perpetrator. We cannot discriminate our way to safety.
