The proposed policy will directly endanger me and many others like me by forcing me to use the men's restroom. I and every other trans woman I know has horror stories of being harassed, threatened, assaulted, or even raped by men in so-called "men's spaces." This petition seeks to force every trans woman to either risk jail by using women's facilities or risk violence by using men's facilities, with the intent to push us out of public life. 

Physically, legally, and socially, I am a woman. I am no threat to other women, but this petition treats my very presence as a threat. Just by the nature of who I am, it considers me dangerous and violent when I want nothing more than to be gracious and kind to everyone. I am entirely innocent, but it seeks to brand me and every other innocent trans girl as if we're ticking time bombs. 

The State Board of Health has a duty to protect the health and safety of every single Virginian. My presence does not impose a danger to the health and safety of other women, but forcing me into men's spaces is a risk to my health and safety. It is your civic duty to deny this petition in its entirety.
