I agree with keeping men out of women's spaces, but trans women are not men, and I am uncomfortable with the idea that we will be potentially policing who is allowed in women's spaces and sports.
Where's the line for how we truly determine that? Are we going to go by testosterone levels, which unfairly excludes cis women like Caster Semenya from participating, due to genetic or biological factors outside of their control?
Is a woman only allowed in women's spaces if she has the right appearance? I'm cis and androgynous looking. Do I have to worry that I won't be allowed to use bathrooms or locker rooms that are safe for me?
Or are we going to go so far as to check women's genitalia when they want to participate in sports or use the right bathroom? I'm not flashing my cooter to a stranger to take a
or change out of my clothes, just because some of you are inadequate, and think excluding a small minority of women will improve your chances of winning something for once in your life.
I assure you, the threat of losing your equal right to participate in athletics as a cisgender woman, due to the policing of other's bodies, is a far greater risk than an actual, cisgender male successfully lying his way into playing women's sports or using a women's locker room. And if you really are so threatened by the five trans woman athletes in Virginia, I suggest you train more - it sounds like a skill issue on your part.
