As a practicing art therapist in Virginia,I see great benefit in licensure for all art therapists in the state. Please continue to move licensure for all art therapists in Virginia. I support the requirements for licensure to begin issuing much needed licenses in VA. This will provide structure and more credibility to the profession. Title protection will help ensure that there is consistency in the level of care individuals seeking treatment can receive instead of providers trying to pass off using “art therapy” in their practice without appropriate education. It is my hope the process is completed soon so our communities can benefit from the good that art therapy licensure can provide.
