I am STRONGLY OPPOSED to the idea of increasing the cost licensure for nurses in the state of Virginia. Nurses have gone through and are still going through too much as it is. Nurses routinely have to pay for parking at work, uniforms, equipment needed on their job like stethoscopes, scrub caps, pen lights, etc. Nurses are constantly faced with ever increasing patient ratios with no pay increase. Becoming and staying a nurse is expensive and nurses are so needed right now. Increasing licensure pricing is going to deter potential and current nurses from the profession putting further demand on the nurses that choose to stay.
