This proposal is an insult to all of my fellow nurses that have worked years for substandard pay. We have endured years of neglect by the systems that are in place to protect us. Now the Department of Health Professionals in Virginia believe that nurses have received such significant pay raises that increased fees should be acceptable. I do not know of any fellow nurses that have received any significant pay raises locally. We are over worked, under staffed, disregarded and constantly over looked. Nurses are retiring, leaving patient care and changing careers completely! Why would any State want to place yet another reason on our shoulders to get out of the Nursing field?
