Ridiculous Proposal

As nurses, we sacrifice everyday for our patients and their families while also sacrificing time with our family and friends by working 12 hour shifts. We spend holidays, birthdays, weekends, nights, etc. away from our families because we understand that nursing is a 24/7 job. We are already having to spend more of our time and money to ensure our CEUs are up to date and now we’re expected to pay 100% more for a license we already hold? What warrants this increase? What has the Virginia Board of Nursing done for nurses in Virginia that could justify this increase? This money grab comes at a time when federal aid and funding has been paused, hurting families across our state, and you all think now is the time for this increase? If this is a “market adjustment” I’d like to know how many nurses have had their salaries “market adjusted” to allow them to be able to afford this expense. This is beyond disappointing and seems like a pointless money grab. I’m ashamed that this is even a proposal. Do better Virginia.
